Pictures

I started painting pictures in 2004 after we started painting together with our son. Creating a picture is extremely meditative and relaxing for me. I taught myself the painting technique.

Visiting art galleries in SOHO/NOHO New York started when I lived there for 2 years and has always fascinated me since then. Art from the Impressionist era onwards is particularly appealing to me, as the painter is allowed more artistic freedom from then on. My first works were pop art paintings of well-known works. However, art connoisseurs advised me to develop my own style that was personal and recognizable. As I do not allow myself to be restricted creatively, my works have remained diverse and can be categorized stylistically as pop art, surrealism, abstract art and caricature. I paint on a whim and I am particularly pleased when the viewer likes it.

I was inspired by, among other things:

  • M.C. Escher (NL)
  • Claude Monet (FRA)
  • Octavio Ocampo (MEX)
  • Gary Larson (USA)
  • Salvador Dali (ES)

Motto

Anyone can be creative and try their hand at painting. If you like my pictures, tell others. If not, then keep it to yourself. But it should motivate you to create a better work yourself.
True and free art is probably that of graffiti artists, because they create works without the intention of becoming rich or famous.
